A group of pediatric dentists from the greater Seattle area approached us to help brand their new office. Pip, meaning a small seed, wanted a mark and an identity system that catered to both young children and teenagers alike. During the initial discovery phase, we tried many concepts that included the seed but all felt that it was too see/say. That’s when I landed on the idea of a print. It’s playful and colorful but not too juvenile. It also has the feel of something that isn’t quite done or perfect, like a growing child.
